Lay Pastoral Ministers
Who we are
All Saints Church has 3 Lay Pastoral Ministers, Carol Coleman, Grace Ogoe and Margaret Hart.
Lay Pastoral Ministers train for two years before being licensed to their own parish. The role is varied and can differ between parishes.
What we do
Our focus is people based pastoral care. We visit parishioners in their own homes for many reasons, illness, bereavement or just support and a listening ear. We can also administer Holy Communion to the sick and housebound. We also assist with other church groups, prayer groups and wellbeing sessions.
Time and place
We are available during Sunday services and other groups during the week. Our main ministry is behind the scenes visiting people in their time of need, phone calls and emails.

My name is Carol, and I was first licensed back in 1994. I have seen many changes over the years and have dealt with many different situations. I find people fascinating and there is no problem that is insurmountable. God will always find a way.

Hello, I am Grace and have been a Lay Pastoral Minister since being licensed in 2014. I am a co-ordinator for the bereavement group, and I am involved in many roles including home communions and Church Hall communions for the less able.

I am Margaret, licensed in 2019, just after Jenny's arrival. Covid, following so soon after, has meant finding different ways to do things. Now we are allowed to visit people in their homes, I hope to restart the Visitors ‘Group shortly, to give monthly visits to those who are housebound and lonely.
